2018 520L Seat Removal From Skull

Having an issue removing seats from the skull on my 2018 520L.

I have the instructions from Ranger but my boat doesn't have any kind of rear bracket when the seat is slid forward to remove a 7/16 head bolt. I also do not see any place to remove the 3 screws from the bracket. My boat doesn't have these.

Was there a different way to remove these in earlier model L boats?

    Thanks

Individual seats on slides, just can't seem to find a way to remove them from the fiberglass skull to tighten the slides. Thanks

They're adjustable seats just like I've seen in every other L boat.

I don’t know where you are in Ohio, but we are blessed with 3 excellent Ranger dealers. If you bought your boat from one of them, I’m sure they’d bend over backward to help you. And if not, call my dealer [Knox Marine] and explain your dilemma. Super helpful and knowledgeable people.

On my 520L I had to take seats out to run a transducer cable. Seats and coin box come out as one unit. My drivers seat screws fell out and dealer put larger screws and lock-tite to fix problem.

Well I dove into the project this afternoon. Apparently the early L boats have similar setup to the C boats. I had no bracket with screws bolts at all to take out on the top of the skull.

Had to remove the strip above the skull on the back deck, remove both panel pieces on the port and starboard side. Seat skull lifted all the way up and 6 bolts to hold the seat to the skull. They were a little loose and tightening them helped some, but seat is still a little wobbly. Guess I may need the new updated seat bracket slides from Ranger.

Hope this will help others out with the early L boats.

I had alot of slop ( play ) in my seats, 2019 Z519L, I slid the seats up, removed the 7/16 bolt behind the seat then the 3 phillips head screws under the front of the seat, then you slide the whole seat forward a couple inches and now it's free. When I layed the first seat down upside down on the front deck I imediately saw the problem. There are 4 short tapered screws that hold the seat slider bracket on and they were all loose, problem was the tapered needed to have just a shade more taper to be tightened down tight. I ran down to the hardware store and found the right screws that were the same but instead of phillips head they were allen head which was way better for tightening, installed the new screws with red locktite and also greased the slides with white lithium grease. 1000* better now. Also when you get the seats out you can clean up an wax the seat pans. Hope this helps anyone with the same issues
