Nothing within 3 hours of here, WV, Eastern KY and Southern OH are the toughest places to Bass fish in the county.

Both are very true statements. The Tri-State area is horrible. Very little water and overloaded with fishermen. Our waters are not even considered decent bass fisheries and at the same time, stomped to death.

Fished it since it first started filling up and had to dodge brush piles. Had a rental spot on it for years and built and lived on it for 16 yrs. Moved in 2011 to GA and have fished a lot of waters here also. No comparison. Do your home work. Sink some brush piles and hunt for the ones that others have put in for years. They're there. I myself have put in over 50. Good luck. Winter fishing at its best!

Ive never been to Fork, but your description sounds like Santee Cooper.

If you have time to look and narrow things down, particularly in Spring and Fall you can catch some nice fish. Even then it’s not unusual for people to fish all day and zero, and by zero I mean not even getting a bite.

If you’re only getting out every Saturday or a couple times a month, it’s difficult to break it down. Both lakes can fish completely different, so much looks the same. It’s by far the most frustrating place I’ve ever fished.

Chickamauga and Guntersville have been hammered so hard for several uears and it shows. I don’t even enjoy going to those lakes anymore.

Guntersville is such a funny lake. I go every Saturday and catch tons of fish, even good ones. Like yesterday was over 40 fish in the boat, but the two biggest were 3.9lb and 3.4lb..

But 3 years ago I was going and catching multiple 5 to 6 pound fish every single trip.

    So yeah I'd say Guntersville.

I’ll never understand how that became the host site for so many of these big west coast tournaments. I thought about putting in for the Johnny Morris wrmg owner tournament, but seeing it was on mead shut that idea down quickly haha.

I respectfully disagree. The three power plant lakes in Illinois for decades have been nothing short of amazing for a northern state. ( Braidwood, Egypt, Newton). For all of the out of state guys who have heard the tails of the 20lb sacks to win and 50 bass days during the week, Those days within the past two years have passed unfortunately.
