    NRX 823s SYR

Hi guys, first post on the forum. I picked up a new NRX 823s SYR because I found a pretty good deal on it and the guys at loomis said if it breaks I can upgrade it to any NRX+ rod for the normal warranty fee. Anyways havnt had a chance to fish it yet. If anyone knows anything about it what would it be best used for. Bought it as a Shakey head rod as it says but was wondering if it would work for Texas rigged drop shot. It’s hard to find info on the 3 power loomis spinning rods so anyone with an opinion would be appreciated.

Agree good tube rod, perhaps a little stiff. The 2 power version is my finesse shaky head rod. This one would be good for a step up in weight. Good Texas rig rod if you prefer spinning to casting. It’s one of the most stout Loomis spinning rods.

As some of the guys above have said, makes a good tube rod, smaller ballhead swimbait rod, or even a great wacky rig/ neko rig rod.

I use the NRX 823 SYR for casting a drop shot. It is an amazing drop shot rod when chasing fish on livescope and making long casts.
