    Gaston Trip Report

Just returned from 3 days fishing on Gaston. Caught and ate a lot of Spotted Bass. If you have never tried them, they are excellent. None of that grassy
taste. Very clean and flaky. We caught several that were 2-1/2 lbs. The best ones came on jerk baits. Tuesday morning we were fishing in Jimmie's Creek and Stripers started breaking all around us.
For the next 45 minutes we caught them on topwater. Kept a few of them for later. We had a fair amount of rain but it was usually later in the day or overnight.

Main lake and creeks were clear. the very back of Pea Hill Creek was a little dingy but still very fishable.
