Feel kinda dumb asking this question, but need some help. For numerous years I threw a shakey head on a Abu Garcia spinning rod. Well last year that rod broke. I loved that rod for throwing a shakey head because the feel was just right. Now, here's the thing I need help with. I felt like I could fish the shakey head with that rod perfectly, and caught a lot of fish on it, and when throwing a shakey head instead of dragging it, I like to basically bounce it on the bottom 3-4 times, then let it sit a few seconds, then bounce it 3-4 more times, etc..... Well that rod that broke was perfect for it. I have been unable to find that same rod, but have bought a few others to replace that shakey head rod, however I just cannot get the same feel out of the other rods I've purchased as I had with the rod that I used for years that broke. It seems like with these other rods I've tried, I cant "bounce" it on the bottom like I did with the old rod that broke. Seems when I try to bounce the shakey, the tip is too soft and flexes too much and more-less pulls it ratherthan bounces/hops it, which takes a lot of the feel away. I don't know what the action/taper was on that old rod I had that broke was, but the ones I've tried replacing it with are a medium action, fast taper, and they just don't do what I want them to do when fishing a shakey head. The number of fish I catch on a shakey head has gone WAY down since I broke that rod and can't find the identical replacement. Any suggestions? Thanks
