Tatula SV TW vs. Zillion SV TW 1016

Have a used Zillion available in my area and have interest I think...could those of you that have owned both reels offer up your thoughts on the similaritiies and differences of these 2 reels...i purchased the Tatula for skipping jigs and paired it with an ALX Skipper...have been very pleased with that purchase for this application...the Zillion is a 6.3:1 ratio...probably would prefer higher speed but the Zillion would be a second/or backup to my Tatula set up...Thanks for offering your opinions!

I have a few years with both reels. The difference is in feel and refinement. Just my opinion, but the Zillion feels a little more solid in the hand when fishing. Both are excellent reels and if the price is right, you might want jump on that used Zillion.

Noted in a photo that this model has gold on handle plate and tension knob...how much does that date it compared to the red?

Gold is 6.3 gear ratio. Red is 7.1. No date differences. And purple is 8.1. This is standard across most Daiwa lines although there are exceptions.

As mentioned above the Zillion feels a little more refined but one of the big things is the free floating 34mm 1016 spool that is interchangeable with lots of other Daiwa reels (Daiwa spools are an entirely different rabbit hole - you've been warned.....).
