The downside might be the connector could be a bit loose after plugging and unplugging of your old unit. Mega may be a bit more susceptible to electrical noise induced into the power cord as well. I would use the new one in the new unit but that's just me. Bob

I haven't checked, but my memory says the wire gauge is bigger in the new cord. Don't quote me, just my memory from installing a bunch of HB's.
I'd keep it and use it, and sell the old one.
