Buying a boat

2007 Mercury 225 Pro XS
Hi guys-
Ive had a lot of great input from guys in this board before. Currently working on purchasing a boat with a 2007 225 Mercury. It was compression tested to be at 95psi, I’m also asking about having a leakdown test performed, and I had diagnostics run on it as well. Just curious what the “TPS Input Low” and also what the “Break in Strategy” codes mean.
Thanks

TPS is throttle position sensor. From what you're describing the motor may be in break in mode. I would pay a competent mercury tech to go over this motor before I bought it.

I assumed you were seeing a present break in mode fault. Be patient and I bet by tomorrow evening the resident experts will respond with sound advice after looking at your scan you posted.

No worries, I tried to post it initially and thought it uploaded….apparently they did not the first time lol. I appreciate it.

Reports are hard to read, but here's what I see after enlarging them:
81% of total engine hours (192) have been below 2999rpm, 76% (181) have been below 1500rpm
There are NO active faults
Freeze frame history shows:
26 neutral overspeed events, the last, an abusive neutral overspeed of 2291rpm occurred at 236.6hrs
16 battery low voltage events, the last, battery at 11.38v, at 234.2hrs
Guardian activated at 234.2hrs due to low battery voltage
3 TPS 1 low input events, the last at 221.9hrs
Engine was placed in breakin at 191.7hrs

The TPS-1 Low Input faults may simply have been where someone replaced the fuel filter and forgot to reconnect the arm to the TPS. Fairly common oversight.
