    89 Cajun bass boat

Iam looking at getting a 89 Cajun bass boat not sure of the model yet guy said transom is solid but there’s a weak spot in the floor is it worth messing with? Wood stringers I suppose and was told they have aluminum core transoms any info would be greatly appreciated.

I had a soft floor on my 1995. Turns out the plywood was soft but under that was a fiberglass floor. Not sue why it had both so I replaced the plywood with treated plywood and all has been good for 15 years.

If the boat has the aluminum reinforced transom (aluminum honeycomb with resin in the voids - nearly bulletproof!), it would only be in the engine mount area. The lower part of the transom and the stringers are wood - and can have rot like other boats of the era. If there are drilled holes for speedo units, or old transducer mounts, they could introduce water into the transom/laminate if not sealed well.
