    Reel Grips

If you use reel grips, you (as I) have probably paid anywhere from $3 to $6 for a pair from the usual tackle stores. I found them on Amazon, 5 pairs for $10 or 6 pairs for $11. I bought 5 pairs and can't tell any difference at all from the others I have been buying at a higher cost. Probably made at the same factory.

I never backlash, but each time I go fishing I practice fixing them, just in case I ever do really backlash.

Why the ? Is it because they are made in China? The difference between the Amazon and BPS is Johnny gets his cut on the retail store stuff. Both made in China. Somebody may or may not have a brick-and-mortar store, wraps them up, ships them, saves you money and a trip to the store.

I've never used any type of reel grips. What are your likes or dislikes about them?

They just give a better grip when your hands are wet or sweaty, or you get that unexpected bite.

I also color code them to the reel speed.

Anyone remember "Gator Grips" from back in the 70s? Still have one on my Ambassadeur 5000D and wish they were still available.

I used to use them, but when I switched out from right to left handed reels they have much better and larger knobs so no longer need them.

I love ‘me. Been using them for years. The problem is, once you put them on one reel you have to put them on all of them or else they feel funny without.

I used to use them too. I loved them when I had many different brands of reels, it made the feel the same for all. Now I use Lew's reels and have the same handle for all my reels. If I could have found them cheaper, I would have jumped on it.

The "rubber" grips on my reels have started falling apart and become sticky after years of use and i use the reel grips cover that up, otherwise i dont use them "just because".
