    Early november Alabama Trip

Buddy and I are heading down Nov 4-8th from Ohio.
We've been to Guntersville a few times, and Chickamauga / Watts Bar.

We are debating between Pickwick, or Lewis Smith.

I like the Looks of Lewis Smith, and if its a bust we can fish Guntersville on the way back home without much of a detour.
    Never been to either lake.....

    Where would you go?
    Why?
What ramps or Marinas should we be using with the lower waters (I have Map cards and lake offset)
We mostly target large mouth, spotted bass, anything that bites a line....

Just looking for a good time. We VRBO or hotel it up, we dont care either.

That time of year I would go to Pickwick. The big brown fish should be on a tear by then.

    Pickwick is for fishing.

    Lewis Smith is for scenery.

On a serious note- Ive never fished Pickwick, but it's on my bucket list.

I've fished Lewis Smith alot. You can definitely catch some decent fish in there, but be prepared to go hunting. You can also catch hundreds of micro spot bass.

No doubt in my mind - Pickwick. Great fishing for smallmouth, chance for a huge smallmouth or largemouth. Great town with great places to eat.
Stop in at Perkins tackle every morning and they will help you out with what to do/throw.

If you're coming for a few days, come to Florence and stay in the Shoals area and fish Pickwick and lean on these brown fish for a day or two. If you want to take a day and go to Smith then it's only a little over an hour drive to get there...do both...but you stand a chance to catch some giant smallmouth here. You can catch good fish on Smith but the bigguns are here...
