Mega 360 vs Non Mega 360

Hello all, is mega 360 that much better than non mega 360? I'm looking for y'all's experiences with both. Thank you all for looking

Gives better detail, IMO a bit easier to pick out fish. Only switch due to 360 taking a dump. If it didn't fail I'm not sure I would have made the switch since it required me to get a new head unit
    Fish have fins, they swim

I had 360 and a little over a year leaked oil everywhere! Replaced it with the Mega 360 fingers crossed that it holds up better then it’s predecessor!

I had the 360 and it was great. I had no problem using it to find brush, drop offs, grass or any other structure and fish. I got a Mega 360 last year and it does provide way more detail if your into that. Either one will help a lot to find things and fish. Note, my M360 is on it's way to Humminbird now for the 3rd time.

Not even a comparison for me the M360 blows the original 360 out of the water.

IVe had both. mega shows the structure grass better but the non mega made the fish stick out way better to me but not as crisp for the structure

I have the old one, I will upgrade when I have some extra cash. At first it’s hard to distinguish what you’re looking at but once you know what grass vs clean bottom looks like it’s a big help, you can identify rock. I have caught so many more fish being able to fish isolated cover etc.

it’s just blurry and meshes everything together, if you have the means to purchase mega hands down get it.

If you have the MEGA 360 and prefer the blurry, you can change the frequency to 455 kHz like the original 360.

lol not sure why someone would want that. I’ll be selling my Helix 12 and non mega 360 next week if anyone’s interested.

This may sound foolish but if you have a MDI and MSI unit at the bow with mega 360. Can you view MSI using the 360 or do you need another transducer entirely?

The original 360 and MEGA 360 are rotating Side Imaging transducers, they do both, but not at the same time.
The MEGA 360 connects to the SI circuit locations in the display's transducer port. You cannot get SI from a SI transducer with it and the MEGA 360 attached. You can only get 2D/DI/Temp with an added transducer connected via Y cable with the MEGA 360.

It REPLACES SI on a SI+ unit and ADDS SI to a DI+ unit.

This is SI using the MEGA 360:
