I don't know and haven't decided if I want an Apex yet as it's over a grand more. Considering the Solix is more clear than the 8612 I'm pretty happy. I talked to someone that actually knows and they said the internals on the Apex are identical to the Solix except for the saltwater ports. They said that the ports like dual sonar, hdmi, dual network and the better screen were added based on that market alone and are the cost difference for the most part. BUT I also left space at the console for one more unit

Looks to be through Helm in ActiveCaptain. You need to have a GPSMap series model to do it.
