I’m having issues with my dash gauges. When I turn the key on the gas gauge pins to empty, volt meter pins to 16 and the tach doesn’t register at all when the engine is running. Could this be a grounding issue and how do I check?

It could be, but you’ll just have to hunt for the problem. Look for a black wire unplugged or loose under the dash.
If you have integrity, nothing else matters. If you don't have integrity,
nothing else matters.
Found the fuel gauge issue, bad ground wire at the gas tank. Not sure what’s going on with the volt meter, could be bad
Turned out to be bad gauge. Voltage at back of gauge was the same as that at the battery. Ordered new gauge
