HDS live 9 not reading depth or sidescan.

HDS Live ‹Put new ai 3-1 transducer on. Still no depth or sidescan readings. Where it has use network depth & temp data in settings sonar, it has disabled. Front hds live 7 has option in that setting. It has hds 9 selected. The console hds 9 the one not reading depth is selected in data source in network and installation. Is the ( use network depth and temp causing this? ) I do have water temperature. I’ve done hard and soft resets. Everything seems to work on this unit except for the depth and sidescan. Help please. Or is the unit bad?

have you got the 3-1 in right channel on the console unit? are the units networked? when you go into device list it should say this device beside the one you need selected at the console. sounds like it may be reading off your trolling motor transducer if only temp works.

It is on the correct channel and in the right plug. No it’s not reading the front transducer. Yes they are networking.

I’m going out one more time to see what I can screw up. I’ll play with my front unit to see if it changes my console unit. But I’m pretty sure it’s not. Had this boat a little over two years. No changes to the depth finders. Until the console one, hds live 9 unit started blowing a fuse. Fixed that. Bad ground. But what could that have done to my unit, or made changes I’m no aware of?

To read off your 3 in 1 transducer, go to the Structure page. In the menu to the right under source select This Unit. Everything you are doing in the data sources menu and the network sources is not related to your 3 in 1 or even to the Structure port.

Sorry, I'm not seeing structure page. This unit just has hds 9 and hds 7. 9 is selected and I don't see an option for structure. Sorry, I'm still learning.

After you turn the unit on, hit the Pages button, then select Structure, go to the menu on the right. Under Source select This Unit. If you don't see a Structure page to select at the Pages screen, go to Pages, Settings, Advanced, and turn on StructureScan.

Again thanks. I went to pages, settings And to advance and structure scan was already selected. I haven’t a clue in what’s going on. For two yrs it’s been fine. I had sidescan and depth readings, then one day fishing a benefit went to turn the unit on while backing off the trailer and it went dead on me. Found out later it was a blown fuse. Bad connection or something. I used a voltmeter and found one wire with no juice. Unscrewed it, wiggled it re-tightened it and it’s been good every since except for no depth and sidescan. I’m up for anything else, more suggestions. I’m going to revisit the wiring tomorrow to see if there is something else there that’s not this unit see the transducer.?.

I'm out of ideas. If Structure is turned on but there is no icon to select it, sounds like your last resort is a hard reset and then a call to Lowrance.

Thank you for you help. I’ve done the hard and soft resets. Just for FYI, I could read the depth from the front transducer, but that is not what I need. I’ll have to have the trolling motor in the water, with no sidescan. But hey, I appreciate the help you gave me. Calling Lowrance tomorrow and I hope I get someone I can understand. Basically I want to know if my unit is bad. Do I buy another and if so, what setup will I need other from what I’ve been doing. Or will it be plug and play. Thank you.
