    Graphs Stolen

I am considering buying the Durasafe graph locks and was wondering if any one here has had someone try to rip off your graphs with those locks attached. Did they tear up your console in the process? Were they successful?

Nice title…are we doing click bait around here these days?

Those things can be hacksawed off in about 30 seconds. I did it after losing the key.

Just take your graphs off. It’s not that hard especially if you think they could be stolen.

They are nice to have for pit stops. If for more than one graph get them all with same key

They’re a deterrent is all. When you whip into the gas station or restaurant on the way to the lake, they make feel better. They’re not a fool proof method. Hell a cordless saws all would cut the gimble bracket in no time.

No but I got 3 HB 1199's that will be sitting in front of my house. Do me a favor and just take the whole boat. The deductible wouldn't even be worth it.

When docked on a lake overnight (week at a time) I just throw a white towel over my units. When going to a gas station / restaurant I do nothing but try to get a seat in the eating establishment so I can see my boat. If overnight on the trailer at the cottage we are renting, like the night before we leave the boat will have it's travel cover on it.

As mentioned just take them off. Aside from preventing theft it also helps to reduce the road shock on the electrical components when hitting potholes etc.

Potholes? You ever run in rough water?

Durasafe can be picked very easy and/or cut. The BoatEFX locks are a better lock by far, but anything can be taken if they want it bad enough

Just bought my first Garmin unit (126SV) and as long as it stays on in rough water, that docking station of theirs is pure genius. Takes two seconds tops to take it off and secure it inside.
