Heavy smoke at first start of the day

    04 200 DI
    Model # E200FPLSRB

Two trips this weekend the first start up of the day she was smoking like a train for almost a minute. Once it cleared it never smoked again and ran fine and strong all day with the exception of a rough idle once in a while about a minute after coming off plane.

This motor has never smoked at all. I only run xd100 since I bought it 18 months ago. Im going to pull plugs today or first thing tomorrow and see if they are wet. Any direction where to start looking for issues is appreciated. I bought the $80 ev diags from amazon but it dosent work so also looking for another diagnostic tool that will work.

Thanks in advance for any help

Check the pressure regulator in the oil return line, if it get plugged it will cause that problem!

FYI, this is from an earlier model Ficht with air-cooled ECU, versus your water-cooled ECM, but maybe it will give you some ideas.

You know, you can buy a PDF of the OEM factory Service Manual for that OB for cheap online, just gotta look around for a 'PDF' version.
