Mercury 115 Pro XS 2017: Suddenly stopped running???

    Mercury 115 Pro XS Ser#2B442155 Model:1117F131D

This engine has never given me any issues but yesterday about half way through my fishing trip it suddenly quit running. Traveling around 30-35mph it suddenly slowed down quickly and just quit. I tried to restart it, turned over fine but no go. My fishing buddy went to stern and said there was a light sheen on the water like either oil or fuel. I removed the cowling when I got home but everything looks fine. Lower unit turns easily with no signs of leaking oil. I have a full tank of gas.

I suspect it has something to do with fuel but since I could see no signs of leaks or loose hoses I closed everything up.
Before I take it in to the shop is there anything else I can check(fuel filter, fuel hoses etc).
I have VESSEL VIEW Mobile but I did not have it running at the time.

    Thanks

I have the same motor as you but a 2015 model.
Try turning the key on and see if you hear the fuel pump run for a couple seconds when you first turn the key to on.

I’d also look for any loose connections at the battery and check all the fuses at the motor.

I had some intermittent issues with my motor one time and the locking ring on the round connector at the front of the motor was not tight and was causing issues.

Could it have anything to do with the Fuel Demand Valve?
Just trying to eliminate some simple stuff before I take it to the dealer where it will sit for at least 3 weeks.

It very well could be the fuel demand valve. Go pick up a new fuel line, replace it and give it a shot. That's the only way you will know.

Check the fuel line connection at the rigging flange. Have seen some of them break because the hoses were poorly oriented (or tied too tight which fractured the fitting).

I disconnected the fuel line at the engine and it was full of gas under light pressure. It is a 2017 Tracker with Blue writing on the actual line. There was no sign of debris or deteriorated lining. Changed the fuel filter then put the lower unit in a barrel of water and tried to start the engine. It fired right up and was peeing water just fine. Next morning I took boat to the lake and did a two hour tour at varying speeds. Not a single hiccup. I will continue to be a little cautious for a few trips but at this point everything seems OK.

Did another trip on Monday with no issues. I am keeping VesselViewMobile on the entire time I am on the water just incase I have an issue hoping to record whatever fault occurs. It helps a lot since they changed the VVM APP to automatically reconnect to the engine after stopping.
