The front hole is for casting and hoping back to you. The middle hole is for vertical jigging and I assume third whole is also but will fall different never have used the 3rd one though

During the fall down on the Coosa River chain, they work well. I mostly use the biggest Cotton Cordell Gay Blades. They are smaller than most, but easily match the smaller bait.

I had saved this note from some Damikinsite about snap placement on the Vaults
    Vibration Options:
1.) Front hole: Place the quick snap clip in the front hole for maximum action when vertically jigging.

2.) Middle hole: Use this hole when fishing flats, banks or schooled fish for medium to fast retrieves.

3.) Rear hole: The use of this towing point gives the Lure maximum vibration for slower retrieves.

It’s all about the angle of the dangle. Different length bodies and different weight sizes need different Snap location for the bait to hang at the proper angle for proper action. No two brands are the same. I prefer a 45° Ish angle100% of the time no matter how I’m using the bait

I think what most people do wrong with these is rip them too hard. On LSC in my experience you are trying to imitate dying baitfish. Slow lifts and let it fall, shake it a little while it's laying on the bottom. I'm no expert with them like Mike is, but that has been what works for me. We have also done well with cicadas burning them over the flats on LSC like you would a rattle trap.

Frank Scalish’s day 4 on BTL about blade baits taught me that. Before I heard that I’d yo yo it with big rips off the bottom so you can really feel the blade. That just leads to fouled hooks and no fish in the winter. Really slow raises, just feeling a couple faint thumps and letting it sink again worked way better.
