    Smallmouth in downtown Columbia

Anyone have any info on fishing for them? You can respond by PM if you wish. Wading, fishing off the bank, whichever is better.

Everyone has always told me that there is no where to get to the waters edge. All the land is private. I would love to do a kayak fishing trip up there

Last time I went there I went to the Canal & Riverfront Park and walked down to the water...caught several smallies. That has been about 4 years

Thank you. I’d heard you could catch them off the bank, just wasn’t sure it was worthwhile in Columbia itself.

Don't put your phone in your pocket...wading and those rocks is tough

Depending on the water levels, you can access the river here and wade it. I've caught a bunch of smallmouth from this location. But remember wading can be difficult and you'd better have great balance and be in shape. The rocks are extremely slippery!

Thank you. That’s what I’m looking for, just s chance to catch a smallmouth wading or from the bank. Probably won’t have time for a while, but I’ll definitely try it
