How many guides not including the tip would you normally put on a 7’ ultra light spinning rod? Thank you in advance for your help.

8 to 10 depending on blank and I would put the smallest guides on it I could get away with, 1 or 2 mm guides would be used unless there was a real good reason to not to, right now I can't think of one. I'd probably use the CRB nano micros. If you want ceramic rings, Forecast micros to 2 mm are available. Some of my rods start with a 10 mm spinning stripper. You can't believe the weight savings and sensitivity difference.

Minimum of 8 but being an ultralight it’s really hard to answer without doing the static test myself. you will need a few more to really get the curvature correctly so I’d be leaning more towards the 10 mark. Static testing is the best way to place guides and the softer the rod is the more you’ll typically need
