1997 Champion Elite 202, Hatch Shocks

I am trying to sort out what "should" have been used for my hatch lid shocks.

The current shocks are 17" long extended, but the pressures are different on all and some seem to be way too high. Below is what I have, can anyone help me out please?

Front rod lockers, SL-36-120, 120lb??? oddly, this one is stamped 072/97, I assume 1997 production date. Which would line up with when my boat was produced.
    Front Center Storage, SL16-50-1, 50lb???
Rear Battery Compartment Lid, SPD-GSNI-5200-40, 40lb???

My 97 202 had the same type shock on all 4 from factory. SL36-20-5 is what I used to replace them.

20 pounders will work fine for all of the lids.

All the ones on my brothers 1999 191 were same size and weight rating. I upgraded them to stainless steel ones of same size and rating. I got them from lift support depot. If I can find my order I will up load part numbers.

I agree with Matt. In fact, my 201 had all SL36-20. My bet is the 202 did too, unless the center storage is longer for some reason. Back to Boating is Attwood's out let for them. Attwood Springlift SL36 Gas Springs | Back To Boating – BacktoBoating

Thats the stainless steel version that is same specs as the SL36-20 Attwood gas lift that comes standard on most champions. They use same lift and just adjust where they mount so they work for all the lids.

I recently replaced some on my 196 elite and found iBoats had the best price.
