    Question Offset pedestal non threaded

I am wondering if I can use a (non threaded) offset seat post on my Tracker boat? The base I have is threaded, but I can not get a threaded post to tighten up correctly. It will tighten, but always in the wrong direction. I have tried an o-ring and a flat washer to no avail.

Can you just grind down the threads on the post you have?

The non-threaded post will drop down into the pedestal base until the round rod gets to the threads and stop there because the post rod is a larger diameter that the threaded base.
I think your best options would be find the depth of the base to the start of the threads and cut the pedestal base rod to that length or have the end threaded. I don't know the thread pitch you need though.
