    97 tr21?
If so they run better with the motor high. What speeds are you getting now? Rpms?
    I have a 97 tr21 with a 2018 225 pro xs with a hydraulic plate. Normally run a 26 tempest. Trying a 27 now. The 26 I've hit 76.4 mph. But I have 3-31 batteries and 2 10ft talons.
    What tempest have you tried?

Yes TR 21 . I have ran it up to about 73 with a 27 Tempest .(.I put a hydraulic plate on her too. 8 inch setback ). Buddy wanted it off his boat ,, wouldn’t come out of hole in heat tho .. 26 trophy on it now and she comes out good . Going to get me a prop built .. just wondering if there are better options than the tempest or trophy . I have not had a cookie cutter bass boat in a long time . last rig was Allison XB 21 . Had Allisons, Bullets and Strokers for years. Sold the Ally because I wanted a single console and boat prices went crazy . Found this old boat for 3 k and been fishing out off it . Nice to not have a chunk in a boat .

Do you have plugs out on the tempest prop? I have 1 plugged and 2 wide open. And mine comes out pretty quick

How high do you have the jackplate when taking off?
When I had a 200 Johnson when I first got the boat it did the same think as yours.

With warmer water it's going to be a pain. Mine with the 200 was awful. But the motor high was better. Warm water is tough to figure much out.

With a 225HP the 25P Trophy was the deal, or a 25P Tempest.
2.5" PTP , but make sure you have a least 12lbs of water pressure.

The old tr hulls weigh around 1580. Most my weight is in the back of the boat. It takes the right water condition to get those speed. But I do average 72 73 with 2 people. I tried a 27 tempest. It does ok but 26 works better on smaller lakes. Going to try a 25 the next trip.

I have a 2004 TR21 with a 2005 225 efi down draft motor and I run a 27 Trophy plus to the limiter. I've hit 78 by myself and 77 with two in the boat. I ran a 27 tempest for a short time but didn't like how it carried the boat so I switched to a 26 Trophy but had to go to the 27 trophy because it over revved with the 26 all the time and would shut down. The 27 took care of that.

Had a 1999 TX21 with a 2007 250 ProXS. 5.5" CMC Hydraulic jackplate (8" would have been better), 2" prop to pad, i ran a 27" Trophy. Those early Tritons performed best with a 4 blade. Fully Loaded 2 people, 77mph. TX (intracoastal model) was the only 20'6" early model Triton rated for a 250.

Question for you guys, got a 2000 tr 21 with a merc 225 efi. Tried a 25 trophy today and it will spin up to 4000 rpms and get out of the hole but when you go to load it on the trailer it just bogs down. Had zero tackle in the boat and 2 kids around 50 pounds a piece and me in it with 1/4 tank of fuel. I’m scared that if I drill out the pvs holes any bigger it will blow out when getting out of the hole. I’ll check my prop to pad tomorrow but I don’t think it has anything to do with my problem.

I have a '99 Tr-21 with Merc. 225 opti but rated for a 250 on capacity plate and found the 25P tempest worked better than the trophy. I could get around 73 -76 depending on conditions. I have read/ heard about too many 4 blades slinging a blade since as stated before these boats like the motor running up high.

    I ran a 99 model TR 21 with a 99 model 225 efi. Had a 6 inch plate and ran a 26 trophy. Was a rocket ship!
