    Spit back from master

    20210902_121841.jpg

Should brake fluid be spitting back from this hole? Not sure if it's trapped air.

Plunger won't stiffen up. I found a small leak where a brake hose goes into the furthest wheel cylinder. Undid and retightened. Will need to bleed bit now thinking I have air in the MC

Yes, brake fluid should come out of that hole when you compress the master cylinder. That small hole allows the pressure in the brake lines to go away once the piston in the master cylinder retracts.

Make sure the Master Cylinder is full and the cap on. Test and bleed if necessary.

I'll have to rebleed after undoing the brake line at the furthest wheel. Cap on though? The plunger isn't getting stiff, so I have to figure out why. Maybe bleed the MC first

I actually cut a funnel to fit hole, but a couple of inches over lever of gasket, bleed until little below rubber seal and then done, I actually did all four and mine is great. That thing don't hold hardly any fluid, so the smallest of a leak and you are dry....Dot 3

So tinkering with it briefly in the garage last night, used short strokes on the plunger amd I think ibsaw bubbles escape from the second hole. Lots of tiny bubbles in the reservoir. I also heard a shallow popping sound coming from what seemed the plunger.

I can't seem to find a procedure to bleed a ufp master cylinder. I'm sure its the same as a vehicle mc, but I've seen it mentioned, just can't seem to find it

I know how to bleed brake lines but there was a procedure to bleed the master cylinder itself before bleeding the lines

It won't hurt to find the brake line fitting closest to the master cylinder and IF you can loosen it, depress the plunger, loosen it and if fluid or air comes out, tighten it and then release the plunger. Repeat if you get air out.

The procedure for bleeding the master cylinder is about half way down in the article.
