    Lake Decatur

Had dinner on the road at the Beach House this evening and saw an evening tourney heading out. How is the fishing in this lake? There were some bass busting on bait near the docks while I was having dinner.

It’s been a few years since I’ve fished it but it was tough fishing. Almost as tough as removing the slime layer off of the boat.

Ive fished the Wednesday night tourneys for a lot of years and it can be very tough. I still love the lake as the crappie fishing is best in the state for size and the food at the beach house is excellent. I live a couple miles south so I fish it often.

Dinner was definitely good and eating by the water is always better. I was surprised to read a biologist's report that the walleye population is quite good in the lake. I would not have expected that.

The walleye started showing up in good numbers and size about 4 years ago.
