What lower unit would you run magnum or L1

Ok so here is the question. Just sent rod thru side of the block on #2 cylinder of my 06' 200 ho. Have found a replacement 225 ho and it just had a new magnum lower unit put on it last year. Do I stick with the m2 that's on it or swap it out with my lightning. I am kinda a speed junkie and know the magnum is about 4 mph slower but bulletproof. What would you do??
The boat is a 01 Ranger R81 was running 70 loaded at 5700 rpm w a 25 fury 3 w the 200 ho (Yes overpowered). I literally could drive it at 70 w no hands on the wheel. The 225 is a bit much but I know it can handle it. My guess is with the m2 it will prob run the same speed due to the extra hp but the speed loss w the m2. Would you put the L1 on the 225 and get the extra 4 to 5 mph. Or just stick w the m2 and live w 70. I'd really like the 5 mph gain but don't wanna be down w a blown up lower. The lightning was never a issue on the 200ho. Will the magnum Def be way slower ..?

I was leaning toward the l1 and having the m2 as a spare at least I wouldn't sit and wonder what she would run w the L1 ...I'd know. Interested in everyone's opinion . You think it still would be faster w the 225ho and the m1 vs the 200 ho and the L1 that's my big question. ??

Who's to say the 200 won't out perform the 225 ? The mystery can only be solved by trying both....I know what I would do....( 40 years ago !)

Since there's a rod thru the side of the block and piston looks like Rock's inside cylinder running the 200 nada possible.

Run down the lake and keep throwing gear out till you get back to 70 MPH
I like my L1 but at 78 it is time to slow down
