    Winter Project Starts Early

Scored a NOS/New Old Stock 1985 185hp block(prop rated) for cheap. Its actually a 200 block but got caught up in the HP rating change of the 80's,,LOL. Standard bore, never painted, never assembled, never touched. Have a 6 new OMC pistons, rods, proper 200hp carbs, and proper 200hp heads. Will try and post some before, during and after pics of project. Dont know whats its going on yet, maybe a Ranger 390V or 374V. Have both hulls available.

I would have used a TP tube or paper towel tube on the crank.

Totally awesome! I can almost hear it running up the River. That fine tuned sound of 2 stroke performance like music in my head.

Have ran it the past 5 days to break in(10 hours). No fine tuning yet, no set up tuning yet, ran 64 mph GPS burst on limiter yesterday on a 23 pitch shooter.(not enough prop). Gonna bump up to a 25 pitch and see.

Yes Sir, 64 with a 23. I'm thinking the 25 will send it to the Magic number when your finished.

Break in done. 25 pitch shooter and 66 GPS with 2 full tanks and my big ass. Max timing set at 26 degrees with 89 octane mixed 40:1(running twin pulse pumps). Pick up timing set at 10 degrees. P to P set at 3 3/4. Happy with it. Special shout out to Jerry(316Jughead) for his help and to ChampionMan for his expertise over the years.
