    Ultra Minnow Spinnerbait Mold

I have a Do It Ultra Minnow Spinnerbait mold (model 473405 for 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 oz baits (see link below)). I make 3/8 oz baits which calls for a form diameter of .040. A 1/4 oz calls for a form diameter of .035. I have read with a 3/8 oz bait a .035 form will product more vibration. I do not know if the frame type would make a difference but I use a R bend frame. My question is if I use a .035 form for a 3/8 oz bait will the lead run out of the bottom of the mold, or attach to the top of the wire frame?

No, But the wire will slip down before you can pour the lead. Put a dab of RED RTV silicone in the wire slot and this will hold the wire while you pour. Thin wires don't hold up here to our smallmouth. I prefer bigger wire and I don't thik it costs me any less fish.

Take a spring loaded center punch to 1 half of mold this will hold wire in place, been doing this for 15+ years with same mold.
