How well do the MK quick release composite mounts hold up, I have read where some people have had them break. I want one so I swap out my trolling motor for a spare with minimal down time. I will be putting a Fortrex on it.

Fortrex fits on a ultrex mount, one screw what's easier than that?
I've got one with my Terrova.
No problems, had it over 10yrs.
Just make sure you follow MK's guide on thrust and size for whatever mount you are looking at. Most of the composites will not support 100+ lbs thrust motors.
I have one for my Terrova and no issues. (Mine is a 36V / 112 lbs trolling motor) I have to run my TM at full thrust quite often due to currents and tides.

I've had three of these MK mounts on three different boats over many years. All of them have worked very well. I now have the same setup with a Terrova 80 on my Allison.
Two QD mounts here and neither was an issue, my latest with a Terrova I was leery about due to the boat not the mount but so far no issues.

I have the MKA-51 for my 36v/112# Ulterra. Works great, slides the motor back too for fitting in the garage.
Mine works great with a Terrova.
