    Battery Chargers

    Hi guys,

So I am busy adding a new Gel Battery to my boat set up for my Finders ( I'd go Lithium if I could afford )

    I have currently,

    Cranking Battery
    2 x Lead 105 Deep Cycle Batteries.

This is all connected to a 3 bank minkota charger.

My plan is to remove the cranking battery from the 3 bank charger and hook up the Gel Battery, Leaving me needing to buy a charger soley for the cranking Battery.

I have my eye on what one I want to get but I am not sure what AMP to get. My Choices are 5 / 7 / 10 / 12.
The lower the cheaper ofcourse. I cant really find anywhere from reading so I thought I would ask here.

Would a 5 amp work fine? Off the Cranking Battery I will still be running my finder at my Console and my Pumps.

10 would be better for the battery from what I've been told.
Won't the MK charge the gel battery?

You'll be fine regardless of what amps the charger does. The smaller the amp number, the longer it'll take to charge, but easier on the battery (charge cycles may increase)

The higher the amps, less time with charging, bit harder in the battery.
