    Skirt Tab Organization

For those of you that make your own spinnerbait, buzz bait, or jigs what do you keep your skirt tabs in to stay organized so you can see what skirt tab patterns you have?

I have about five plano 3700 boxes that I use. They are labeled and organized somewhat from darkest to lightest.

I have grocery bags full of different colors.... I need to do something too... But 3700 boxes are not going to work for me. I buy 100-1000 per color and need bigger storage compartments.

I have a tackle bag that holds 5 smaller Plano boxes that stays in the boat so I can build jigs as I need them. I keep heads in ziploc bags in the front pouch then flashbou, skirt collars and other randomness in the side pockets.

I use the micro binders for paper. I found some silver ones at Walmart. I write the tab code and abbreviation for the supplier on the binder and store them in a large craft type case. I just place the empty binders in one slot so that I know what tabs I need to reorder.

The only draw back is the ends stick together some, but you can easily pull from the free end and they will separate.

I use photo storage boxes. They are 4.5"x6.5"x1" and 16 boxes to a case. Each box will hold just over 100 tabs.

This tip was one of the best that helped me from this page... I can fit over 200 tabs in each box. I filled up 2 cases and need 1 more.

This what I bought, Got 40% off and cost me $23 each.

Mike always has good tips so I think I will order a couple of those boxes. Right now I just leave them in the original packaging and put them in one of two 66 quart tubs from Walmart.

I use this and hung it on my pegboard that's mounted on the back of my workbench. Label each drawer and it's perfect.

That is where I got mine. I also made up labels and taped to boxes so I know what they are exactly. I'm glad you like it.

I just finished organizing mine last night. Instead of buying a 3rd box, I decided to share some colors together in patterns that I use less of, Like bubble gum, heavy glitter, etc... I might use blue painters tape on each lid and write the #/color/supplier on each. Easy to add/remove. Since label making is above my pay grade.
