    MHX Mag FX rod blank uses

    Guys I am thinking about purchasing a couple of these to make one spinning and one casting rod. They will both be used for throwing 1/4-5/16 jigs with braid to a fluoro leader. What are your thoughts? It is the MB813XF.

    BTW I was using the MB843 for these jigs as my casting rod, I thought it was a little on the heavy side for these light jigs.

    The 813XF is a better than average top water blank, haven't used it for jigs.

    MB843 is my favorite all purpose blank.

    I've not tried the Mag XF's. That being said I prefer my jig rods a bit on the stiff side.

    Just wish I could order more MB843's. The black metallic has been on backorder for WAY to dang long. I have rods to build and can't get blanks.

    Update:
    Made a finesse jig baitcasting rod with the 813 xf blank. It does great with jigs up to 5/16 with straight 10 lb fluoro.
