Should I sell the Snake?
First things first. Im the original owner of this 2001 201D for 20 years and love it. I’ll be getting a new Z21 in October and am debating to keep it so my teenager can use it. Just had my first powerhead replaced ( oil pump quit and burnt a cylinder) Also decided to put on a used (only 2 years) lower since I still had the original on. Basically a almost new complete 225 EFI. He’s been fishing tournaments since he was 7 and now fishing several high school opens and the bass nation HS series. I know I’d let him take the new one out and trust his abilities to drive it.
should l I keep it as a backup, or sell?

Only you can answer your question, which most of it at this point depends on your finances, and how would you feel with your son accidently wracking the new boat vs the ol' snake?

Totally up to you. I’d say keep it for the boy. I bet he’d love it and not have to worry about putting the first scratch in the new boat

Thanks for the input! Guess I have a little time to stew over it.

One thing about it, that hull will pretty much eat up weather, driver error and just keep on going. I sold mine and am in a big Triton now. Love that boat but miss the handling of the Cobra. I think you could be confident to send the boy out in it and know even if he does something stupid, the boat will handle it and get him back to the ramp.
