Merc 200 Pro XS On engine oil tank replacement.

    2014 Merc 200 Pro XS S#2B088786
Bleeder cap started leaking so I am replacing the on motor tank with a new one. Part not due in until the middle of August. Couple of questions.

    1. Would it be OK to put some Gas/Oil thread tape on cap and use it until new one arrives?
    2. Anything other than normal priming needed when adding new tank?
    Thanks in advance.

    1. Not recommended. But... better than the Valdeez Syndrome.

    2. Strongly recommended that an Oil Pump Prime be performed to make certain there are no air bubbles or pockets in the system.

(Normal procedure to bleed air from the new engine-mounted tank applies, of course).
