    Mercury Prop Numbers

I am wondering if anybody knows what the last two digits on a Mercury prop number designate. I have seen Trophy Plus and Trophy props with the same number except for the last two digits. And on all of these props, the last two digits are either a 41, 45, or 47. Mercury parts employee said they are just part of the part number, but I've only seen 41, 45, and 47, and I think they must designate a year or series of manufacture or something.
For example, on a Trophy Plus prop: 48-825938A41
    on a Trophy prop: 48-825938A45
    Both props are 23P

    Any help appreciated!

Well a45 tempest was made with more material than the a40, so it was likely to sling blades. There is probably something like that going on. Maybe it was a 47 to the 45 slinging . Ha idk

I thought at one time I had seen someone mentioning the A41 Series vs the A45 Series and so on, but the Mercury parts guy certainly didn't know anything about that.

That's the series of props with the 41 being the oldest and the 47 being the newest revision. 41 should be a rubber hub and I think the 45 had square vents.

The 45 I looked at has round vents, but they may be smaller than the standard PVS vents. Is there one series that is better than another series? Thanks

Depending on how you run them all will throw a blade if ran too high. The newest models 45 and 47 have thicker blades but the only problem with them is they may be made of X7 metal alloy which is harder to work. I have both and have broken a 45 and a 47 but I still run a Trophy.
