    Been a busy few days

Started off on Friday when my wife, son, dog, and I all got out on the river for a couple hours. The boy liked the boat ride but didn't like being in the pen with his life jacket on. Sarah got a nice 16" smallie.

Saturday a buddy went with me to check out a section of the river I haven't fished much and we had a great day catching 10 different species of fish. The smallmouth fishing was tough but still a great day. We got in one area that had a few hybrids and man what fun! My biggest was 8#'s and my buddy had a 7.25#'s

Then I made a mistake running back down river though a shallow Rocky rapid and put a hole in the boat. I haven't even had this for a year before breaking her in properly and knocking a hole in it. Time to visit the welder again.

Monday was time to get some lures finished up. Got them tuned Monday morning. Then packaged up and listed on our website that evening.

    Yeah those Hybrids were FUN!

The hole is just the cost of running a jet drive in shallow stuff. It happens ..... and .... I will do it again.

ugh, I assume holes in that type rig are common. I've seen your videos running skinny water. Congrats on getting out with family.

I wonder if you could cover the bottom with the stuff they use on air boats to protect the hull? It's some kind of composite sheet material.

UHMW probably. My dad has a rock proof jet with it completely covering the bottom.

    Go Big BLUE!!!!

n2ratfishin- Yes holes are common. I'm looking for a TIG welder so I can fix it myself the next time I do this.

UHMW (think cutting board material) is a common material used on these hulls, but there is also coatings called K5, Gator Glide (used on airboats) and a few others that are used. As anything though there are positives and negatives on using any of these things.

I run SHALLOW water in this thing as you seen on my videos. I ran through about 8 or 10 different riffles that day over about a 15 mile stretch. I made a mistake on the path I took back down one of the riffles and I couldn't stop or turn around! I did my best but couldn't dodge them all. If you have never ran through stuff like this it is much easier to run up current than it is down current. It would surprise you on how much easier it is to read the water going up.

Yeah it’s a pretty sweet boat. Has the inboard 225 jet. I am trying to work out a deal with him to buy it
