I spoke with a rep today on PP chat and he told me I could upgrade my existing hose to the new style for a mere $349.00 for each pump!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jus a little outrageous
don't you think!

Well, if you go to Rich's page here, you can see you get more than just the hoses.....a couple of things need replaced. I did it and it worked out well.

Replaced both P.P with new models and never looked back.
Pros:
> New updated Pumps are quieter and used the latest: CM2
> Improved Hydraulic hoses, fittings, and interface to stern brackets.
> Improved stern bracket and cleaner appearance IMHO.
> New Warranty on pumps and units.
> Hydraulics lines won't splinter resulting in leaks.
> In my case, change color to match boat scheme verses standard black units.
Cons:
$$$$, but selling your old units could offset the cost.
In my case, it cost me $350.00 a unit to upgrade to new ones after selling the CM1 units that were in excellent condition.
The upgraded hoses are really nice to work with and the fittings don't leak like the old compression fittings.

I want to change from the pumps through the transom, and then get the current lines going into the anchors like normal. This should fix my main concerns. Shouldn't be that hard and I bet I can do it all locally
