    Mooring

    What’s the states mooring laws / rights for boats during
    rough weather .. have to use a guys dock /. His boats mooring
    cover with no boat ,,, to shelter 10-15 till. Thunder / lightning
    storms blew over… after few mins he asked me to kindly leave…

    I was nosed under his cover . About 3 ft in .. .. power poles down ..

    I'm not sure what the laws are but as a decent human being you allow the person to stay under there till the storm has passed. Thats just me but apparently the world is full of douche bags! Brian Latimer got stuck in a storm up at Oneida a few years ago and the same thing happened to him, owner yelled at him to leave.

    I’m not 100% but I don’t believe there’s any law or water rights that give boaters the right to use private property. Like Joe said, a decent human wouldn’t have had a problem during a storm. But boaters don’t have the right to use private slips, boat houses or covered lifts. That’s like if there’s a storm and stranger pulls into your driveway and parks their motorcycle in your garage without permission
