    Tachometer

70 HP, 2004 Yammie. It is the neighbor's boat so more info at this moment. The boat is a 1989 boat with the 2004 motor therefore it has been repowered. It has the factory tach that does not work. Can somebody direct me to where the signal is picked up on the motor. I assume a + and a - to the tach along with a trigger wire (and of course internal lighting). If you can point me in the right direction I would appreciate it.

Ten pin harness from the motor to the boat to the dash. Green wire within that harness conveys the tachometer signal. Jumpers from the ten pin harness to the tachometer via a small fused harness that powers and grounds the tachometer.
