    Dropping daughter at college……

Well, in the early morning I will be dropping my second child, my only daughter off to college and into her dorm. I’m super excited for her, she’s playing D1 soccer at the school which is a perfect fit for her both athletically and academically. She has been early assured into the Pharmacy school and her future is bright but it’s getting real for dad. I’m sure her mother and I raised her right and it’s time for her to pave her way and enjoy being on her own but boy am I feeling extremely anxious about it all. Hope I can get out of her dorm room without shedding a tear but don’t believe it’s truly possible. Say a prayer that all goes well and and her dreams become reality. We are getting closer and closer to an empty nest. Youngest starts high school in a week.

I was all good with my daughter but when we were leaving the house I saw our garage door closing and I teared up. Was all good after that and she is getting ready to start her junior year.

Took my boat to the lake in order to back my trailer in the garage for my daughter to start packing. We go on the 13th.
Enjoy it dad. And just hope she isn’t in the third floor!

I’ve done it twice. It’s ok if they see a tear and probably better. Brings back memories. Both mine played college soccer. It was hard physically and emotionally, but they came out the other end so much better off with about a million phone calls to dad in between.

if you think dropping them off for college is hard - wait till after college and they are moving out for good - my son is packing today and will be gone in two weeks - thats going to be tough

Bring sunglasses as tears are inevitable. Dropped mine off 3 years ago and now she is in grad school. It sort of reminds me of the time they got on the school bus the first time and it drives off.

Just wait till you watch your grand kids go for their first day of school and you realize it seems like yesterday you saw the mother/ father of the grand kids off to their first day of school.

I suspect she would be real disappointed if she doesn’t see a tear.

Ours have been gone for 10 years. I had the exact same feelings as you, however today I really enjoy being empty nesters. Besides that, now we have a grandchild and our kid is doing great. Its just another step in life. Good luck to you and your daughter.
