So last three outings I winch my boat loading up to the roller. When i pull boat out and in parking lot I notice that the boat slid back 2-3”. Is it the strap not being tight on the winch rolled up or the angle of the boat ?

Could be both. I run into the same thing on steep ramps. In those cases, I'll get the boat onto the trailer all the way, leave the big motor running in forward gear, hop up and hook up and tighten the bow strap, then shut off the big motor.

This is what i do^^^^.... it is alil more time staking while being by urself... but well worth it
If it's a new boat or winch/strap I have seen them need a few trips to get tight all the way into the winch. If this is the case it's about tight now.

If it is tight when you begin to pull it out and then loosens after it sits on the trailer all the way, you are backing the trailer down too far in the water.
I was having this issue also and learned I was too deep with trailer in water. Try leaving about 4-6” of center bunks showing above water for trailer depth.

OP, I fight this too with my Z520.
She ain't new, winch strap is years old, she's winched as tight as I've ever winched every other boat in my life (and I have broke straps before as tight as I winch one), and if I back the trailer any shallower you can't power-load it if you tried.
Just throwing it out there as ....... I'm starting to believe some trailers are just a titch off and that's how it is. I especially fight this on slightly steep to steep ramps.
Good Luck! ............... and repost if you find a solution.

Put a Drotto winch catch on, problem solved. My issue was with a hot foot and being alone it always slid back on me.
