    Shimano Vanford C5000XG

    Just received two Vanford C5000XG spinning reels. Noticed there is no back winding capability. Am I missing something?

    It's the new anti-reverse "cancel culture" of the last few years...it's the norm now, for good or bad. Evidently, the singular "benefit" of one less access point for SW and debris intrusion, is worth the additional marketing costs to justify the savings of NOT having to scheme this mechanism into the product, as well as removing the production of the parts and installation.
