    70+ mph straight line winds

Can flip a houseboat! We had one (85' long)go under, upside down then righted itself but still underwater for the most part. I think it was a Catamaran style hull. Another one started to tip over when the hot tub emptied but luckily they were able to beach the bow and tie it off. I heard both boats were trying to turn into the wind but didn't have time. Luckily no one was hurt...

7'1" really isn't all that long for a houseboat . But yeah, we've had our share of wind this year

This was at Cumberland? If so, when did those storms pass thru? That is awful...reminds me of the mess those ice storms did to covered marinas a few years ago.

Yep, Cumberland. I think it happened Monday afternoon. All we got here was a brief windy spell and a few drops of rain.

That's scary. That kind of stuff reminds me of that terrible Duck boat accident a few years ago at Table Rock.

2 oz swimbait on braid. Heavy action rod. Cast perpendicular to the wind. It’s the only time I fish because no other M’Fer is crazy enough to fish in it.🤣🤣🤣🤣

70 MPH wind took out a riverboat here. I was a baby then but a coworker was supposed to be on the boat that day but had something come up at the last minute.

Was Monday afternoon, marine assist had some great advice on their page on how to handle situations like that.
Making sure the motor is running and pointing boat into the wind and waves.
