    Lowrance 20.3 updates labelling?

So I downloaded the required 20.3 and updated my Live 9, three Carbon 12's, and Active Target module.

This is how they read on my MSD card:

    HDS Live-20.3-64.5.29-Standard-1.upd

    HDS_Carbon-20.3-64.5.29-Standard-1.upd

    ActiveTarget-20.3-64.5.29-1.riw

After confirming the above labels umbers were correct in folder on the MSD (laptop), and then plugging the MSD into any MFD, only the ActiveTarget file reads differently on the MFD's:

    ActiveTarget-20.1-64.5.29-1.riw

After updating the module it reads:

    ActiveTarget 64.5.29 (without a 20.1 or 20.3)

Would this be a typo by the programmers?

Maple syrup... I put that sh*t on everything!

Active Target will not update automatically like the MFD will. You have to find it in the device list and update it by selecting the file from the drive manually.

Yes, I believe you are right. Since your Active Target is showing 64.5.29 it matches the .riw file (except for missing the 20.3 part). You are ready to go.
    ciao,
    Marc

It's 64.5.29 which is the main version number, for me 20.3 is just a number, it should have been the third software release in 2020 64.5.29 means the 64th version of Navico Operating System (NOS), 5th branch and 29th build. First generation HDS and Simrad NSE were the two first products running NOS, since then Navico has released 64 major versions of their software.

So if it's reporting 64.5.29 everything is fine whatever version number they have put in front of it.

I thought that the 20.1 or 20.3 were insignificant as long as version/branch/build were correct. I'm not a code writer, so that info was new to me. Thanks for the explanation!
