I have a two day tournament coming up in a few weeks up there. I've never been to any of these lakes. Looking for any advice on what to look for. I've heard there are both big smallmouth and largemouth. Just not as many largies. We are putting in at Fence lake. All the waters are open. I'm hoping to get up and prefish a few times before the derby. Don't need specific areas or baits. Just general info. Thanks!
We have fished both. We just fished Fence last Wednesday. We had some nice smallmouth and largemouth but nothing super huge. We got on the water about 8:30 and were off around 2:30. We easily had 30+ fish. We did not fish Flambeau this time but we never really had a lot of success on bigger fish there. We have caught some bigger ones in Pokegama. Feel free to shoot me a pm and I can give some more specifics on Fence.
