Does anyone know if the older style SHO Cowlings will fit the new 2022 motors?? I am not a fan of the new ones and would replace with the older version if possible.

We are still in 2021. Motors produced in 2022 won't be out until next year. But the year of production does not matter. It is the model identity that matters.
The lower cowling for both the VF250LA (older style) and the VF250LB (new style) are one and the same. My guess is that an older style upper cowling will fit on the new LB model motor.
Is there a particular reason that you want the LB model? For the rectifier/regulator or the auto tilt function?
Get ready to drop some serious coin if you make the switch. Yamaha loves em and they don't give those cowlings away!
Yes I'm figuring that the boat I would order would be coming with the new 2022 Yamaha. I just personally don't like the way the new ones look. The angled decals and the big silver part on the back along with the different shape bothers me enough that I am not afraid to spend the money to not have to look at it.
Someone with a VF250LA might love to have the LB cowling. Find him and possibly make a swap.

I think you're right about that but I'm not for sure if you can or not. Im not ordering a Ranger though.
If you were closer I’d trade you for my near perfect cowl less than two years old.

If it really bothered me (It Wouldn't), I'd order a cover and hide it.
Lot cheaper than a new cowl.
Don't like the way the covers look either. Cowlings aren't cheap, but don't mind having to pay for it to have something I enjoy looking at
