    Neuse River Advice

    Hey fellas,
I'm looking to start fishing the neuse river some this year (Largemouth Bass or whatever the heck will bite the dang lure). I would like to know where is a good place to launch from using a 20' skeeter bass boat near Raleigh/Durham. Any hazards to be aware of, water level concerns, etc.....

Also, is there any other river systems near Raleigh/Durham that would be good LM bass fishing this time of year?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
    Scottie

My advice, start in New Bern and gradually work your way up river over time. If you start up river and work your way down you'll likely not have a skeeter when you get to New Bern.

    Appreciate the comments fellas.
Maybe i should rephrase my question somewhat....

Is there any river systems in central NC (within an 1 or so of Raleigh/Durham) that I can bass fish?
I've been reading this forum for river advice but most of it applies to down east.
I'm looking for something a little closer.
I have put in at avent ferry bridge before but you can't run far in either direction there...

    Thanks
    Scottie

Drive the 1.5-2 hours to Roanoke. Can’t beat it.

Trent and Nuese in Kinston/New Bern area isn't that far from you.

Jamesville or Plymouth. Great fishing and great ecosystem - its the amazon of the south.
