Shallow smallies and AT???

I am having an issue trying to pick up shallow smallies in shallow sand. When it's sunny you can see them to 80 ft but early or cloudy i would like some help from my AT. 8 feet or less

I have tied forward, scout modes. I flipped the ducer to scout.

Is my aim wrong in that it's pointing down too much.

Anybody have this issue?

At 8 ft of depth, you will only be able to realistically get a good picture at 24' out, I believe (~3X Depth). That is only about a boat length away, so it may not be helpful unless you can get that close without spooking fish. The other issue you will fight is the cone will be fairly narrow that close in as well.
