Optimax Pro XS lube oil system question
Just wondering if anyone knows if the oil delivery rate is adjusted for temperature to compensate of reduced oil viscosity in higher temps to maintain oil ratios?
Since the PCM controlled oil pump rate is already using a program it would be easy enough just to add some additional code for this .
The old V6 motors using a mechanical Mikuni oil pump were supposed to be tested @ 70 F to verity the oil delivery rate accuracy since there was no way to compensate for changing oil viscosity due to temperature .

Temperature is not factored in for oil delivery.

Oil delivery is PCM controlled based on pre-programmed (and non-alterable) tables in the PCM's calibration.
While multiple temperature sensor values are monitored, this data is not factored into oil delivery specifically based on ambient temperature. This is partially due to the fact that the oil pump is a plunger-design system, the volume of oil it delivers in "one cycle" of the pump is relatively consistent across expected temperature ranges (and each cylinder has it's own delivery chamber).
